Elder Frenchling is going to the States for Xmas to see my brother and her five cousins/cousines. The younger Frenchling will spend the holidays with us. Smart kid, she already pass only her Christmas list.

@Tim, Gas is expensive here. We kept the old fuel system for that reason. Our induction stove is just lovely. Hollandaise sauce is easy peasy because the heat is perfectly constant.

@Anonymous, That is VERY kind of you. Thanks. I remember Everett. Are there lots of Scaandinavians there?

@Anonymous, Ask and you shall receive. Thank you for the answer. Makes sense. Sounds pretty too. You can hear it in a song I just love. The Je vous salue, Marie (Ave Maria) that we almost always since. Note the "gra-ce." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCvVGEDEp9w

@anonymous (aka Mom) I'll do that. Love you. You would actually have one this very minute if my French were equal to the task. So, up to you dear. One of my weird obsessions is over the difference between gas and electric home stoves. For some reason I always assumed most of Paris used gas(like New York and Boston do). Generally from my personal experience in North America Boston, New York, Texas, California, and Alberta use predominately gas home stoves while Florida(and the Southeast), Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba and the Pacific Northwest use electric stoves.

I personally have always been more comfortable with gas cooking(as odd that may seem) and it is what my current residence uses. I know some of the geographic rules above are not always correct. You can find many gas stoves in nicer houses in Ontario however, finding a gas fired home kitchen in Florida or Quebec is next to impossible(Not sure about the Pacific Northwest). One thing to remember too and something I view as the superiority of gas almost all commercial kitchens use gas not electric although some use propane if utility gas in unavailable(as is sometimes the case in Florida and Quebec).

I also seem to recall you still have an old fashioned oil fired furnace too. These are almost all gone from North America outside of New York, New England, and the Canadian Atlantic provinces(I don't think there are many left in Ontario or Quebec even).Timhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03894651289037073128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424131704277823220.post-11054506205857485922013-12-02T15:53:26.112+01:002013-12-02T15:53:26.112+01:00Thank you for sharing your home and hearth with us...Thank you for sharing your home and hearth with us Victoria.
