What Google is doing is not difficult technically.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424131704277823220.post-19909202224630129062012-11-05T08:12:43.418+01:002012-11-05T08:12:43.418+01:00Hi Christophe, Interesting stuff. They are going to have to change their business model and that's going to be really hard. I hardly know anyone any more here in France who buys the paper - it's all on-line so why bother?

Victoria FERAUGEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16319699673885400472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2424131704277823220.post-3615059481232421392012-11-01T22:10:52.212+01:002012-11-01T22:10:52.212+01:00Interesting... It seems unrelated to the recent articles I read on tf1.fr regarding the "Google tax", which is more like an "author's tax", which is designed to be paid back to the authors that Google references.

http://lci.tf1.fr/economie/entreprise/menace-d-une-taxe-le-patron-de-google-a-ete-recu-par-francois-hollande-7614689.html

http://lci.tf1.fr/economie/entreprise/taxe-google-hollande-envisage-une-loi-si-necessaire-7614795.html

http://lci.tf1.fr/economie/medias/taxe-google-hollande-donne-2-mois-pour-negocier-7615192.html

My huntch is that Google is going to get away with that. The threat of not referencing French media is big enough for the French to abandon the idea. Just like the threat of 30% withholding is good enough for the rest of the world to say amen to the US on FATCA.
Sorry about being negative. This whole FBAR issue has traumatized me.Christophenoreply@blogger.com
